Operates on much less than the ENERGY STAR 5.2 requirement

Of all the companies that deal in large TVs, Mitsubishi has turned out to be the most efficiency-minded and has the recognition to prove it.

The company's 75-inch LaserVue TV, a beast of a flat-panel television set, has earned the Most Efficient ENERGY STAR designation for 2012.

The reason for this is that, even at this size, it was able to beat the ENERGY STAR 5.3 requirement of 108 Watts.

In fact, not only does it beat it, it blew it right out of the water: the LaserView needs only 85W.

“Mitsubishi’s pioneering work in laser technology led to our 2008 launch of the LaserVue line, and we’re proud to continue delivering an energy-efficient product that doesn’t compromise on performance,” said John Hwang, senior product manager, Mitsubishi Electric Visual Solutions America.

The LaserVue Model L75-A94 is the largest TV to earn the Most Efficient ENERGY STAR recognition.

The reason for its high-energy efficiency is the precise laser-light source which can produce high-quality color and detail at a fraction of the power needed by rival products.

All in all, the LaserVue 75-inch TV from Mitsubishi Electric Visual Solutions America is one of the most efficient TVs with size of 55-inch or greater.

“Meeting the ENERGY STAR Most Efficient criteria demonstrates the value of Mitsubishi’s innovative laser TV technology,” said Hwang.

“Based on size, viewing experience and energy efficiency, the LaserVue is a great choice for energy-conscious consumers and those who want an unmatched home theater experience.”

The widescreen panel (aspect ratio 16:9) has 3D support, a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, HDMI input, 120Hz sub-frame rate, Mitsubishi's exclusive 6-Color Processor and many other features.

For the full list of specifications, people interested in taking a closer look at it, and perhaps even buying it, can drop by the official product page, located here. Be warned, though, the price is enormous: $5,999 / 4,519 Euro.
