It’s generally believed that Windows 8 is a disappointing product, at least when it comes to sales, mostly because Microsoft has decided to remain completely tight-lipped on the subject and let analysts and retailers across the world criticize the operating system.

But a survey conducted by Best Buy and published by the Wall Street Journal in late February reveals that 74 percent of users who purchased a touchscreen device with Windows 8 said they like the new software somewhat or very much.

Those who decided to purchase a conventional computer, without a touchscreen but with Windows 8, are also enjoying the operating system, as 53 percent of them admitted that Microsoft has improved the platform a lot.

While Best Buy hasn’t provided any official sales states regarding Windows 8, the company is currently offering a $100 (€77) discount to all those who buy a touchscreen laptop or desktop computer running the new operating system, in an effort to boost sales.
