Since simply releasing a digital camera capable of taking 3D shots didn't seem to be quite enough, Rollei has decided to offer users a complete package and thus also outed the Designline 3D, a 7-inch digital photo frame equipped with a 3D-capable display.

According to PhotographyBlog, the Designline 3D digital picture frame shows 3D pictures with a resolution of 800x480 pixels, in 16:9 image format, while in the same time playing MP3 files via integrated stereo speakers (a feature that, however, has become quite common with most 2D digital photo frames that have made their way onto the market over the past couple of years).

Furthermore, the device offers an e-book function, while, in slide show mode, there are seven different speeds to choose from for designing the transition effects (again, not exactly a huge novelty).

Plus, thanks to an integrated rechargeable lithium-ion battery with up to 3 hours of runtime, Rollei’s 3D digital frame can also be used very flexibly in the room.

And since we're on this topic, we'll also have to mention that the overall design makes it quite suitable for use in just about any part of the house, its elegant, black bezel fitting all decors.

Unfortunately, though, the company doesn't specify whether one will require glasses in order to view the 3D photos, but we're pretty sure that this is not the case.

Additionally, the Designline 3D is accompanied by the “Blaze Video Magic 3.0” software that helps to convert 2D images into 3D pictures or videos with just a few mouse clicks on the computer, and if you happen to own a 3D HDTV as well, you can easily output a video signal to it, via the built-in TV cable.

Quite obviously, the market release of the Rollei Designline 3D digital photo frame will coincide with the release of the company's 3D-capable compact digital camera, the the frame being slated to arrive in stores in January at a price of 299.95 Euro.
