Archos has just made available for purchase on their website a new Android-based tablet PC, namely the Archos 70, following the release of Archos 43 not too long ago. The new slate, boasting a 7-inch touchscreen display, sports a price tag of $279.99 on the company's website, and offers 8GB of internal memory.

According to the company, the new solution comes with a slim and light design, while offering enhanced portability features to all users out there.

Through Archos 70, users can easily share important moments in their lives with family and friends, while also staying up to date at all times with what their contacts are up to.

Some of the main features the new device comes to the market with include:

- Applications: Customize your device by downloading your favorite Android applications - HD Multimedia: Play your favorite HD videos and view photos on the sharp 7 inch touch screen - Internet: Surf the web in full width just like on your PC, and stay in contact by using the integrated email and contacts applications. - Video Chat: Video chat with friends and family using the forward facing camera - TV: Play out your favorite HD videos on a large screen TV with the HDMI out connection - Expandable Storage Expand the storage capacity with the Micro SD card slot (SDHC compatible) - WiFi (802.11 b/g/n) and Bluetooth connectivity - Shipping with Android 2.1 (upgradeable to 2.2 end of November)

The tablet PC also offers users the possibility to carry with them all the features they love the most in their desktop computers, such as applications, Internet connectivity, photos, music, videos and more.

The slate's specifications list includes a display that boasts a 800 x 480 pixels resolution, a 1GHz processor, USB support, HDMI port, as well as WiFi (802.11 b/g/n) and Bluetooth connectivity options.

The 7-inch Android-based Archos 70 tablet is available for purchase from the company's website here. A 250GB version should land soon, it appears, priced at $350.
