Canadian carrier Rogers launched the BlackBerry Bold 9790 smartphone a long time ago. However, the device was shipped with BlackBerry 7.0 operating system.

Lots of months after its release, the smartphone has finally received the next major BlackBerry operating system upgrade, OS 7.1. However, Rogers already discontinued the Bold 9790, so only customers who now own the device will be able to take advantage of this update.

Those who are not familiar with BlackBerry 7.1 OS should know that this update brings users mobile hotspot capability, allowing them to provide access to Internet for up to five Wi-Fi enabled devices, such as laptops, tablets and smartphones.

Moreover, the update also improves the Universal Search feature with auto-suggest ability that can filter results much better, and adds BlackBerry Tag and Wi-Fi calling (where available). Check it out here.
