While the iPhone is a superb piece of work, some features, such as the phone's camera, are pretty poor for the standards the device imposes, as a smartphone. However, if you are starting to regret having gone with the iPhone because the camera is poor, think different... a lot more different.

The guys at Mobile.Brando have one of the strangest iPhone accessories on sale. Dubbed the iPhone 3G Mobile Phone Telescope (also available for the 2G model of the Apple iPhone), this device uses a plastic, transparent case, which the user has to attach on the phone. Then, after the telescope itself is attached onto the case, the result is this: "Overcome the short coming of camera cellphone that can only near-sighted, it also makes distant view for you at the moment," the sellers claim.

There are instructions for using the telescope, too:

Usage - Install the crystal case first enclosed with the telescope. - Adjust the clear focus with the naked eye.

Now that's professional advice for ya! According to Mobile.Brando, the user "can take a picture while fixing the telescope on [the] back crystal case. (If the screen of your cellphone is analyzed degree enough, you can adjust the focus with the screen of the cellphone)," the description reads.

But there's more. For 19 bucks (shipping included), the "Advantage" is that "the new design to run of rays can effectively avoid the contortion of image, and makes the super wide angle, the larger luminous flux, the higher visual acuteness, good for color reduction, which makes the high quality of photography". Surely a professional photographer will find this description a little strange.

Upon receiving your iPhone 3G Mobile Phone Telescope, in the box, there will be the Mobile Phone Telescope, a neckstrap and the shiny "Crystal Case" plus adapter. Go ahead and check it out more closely, if only just for the before-after examples.
