You can only save screenshots after sending notifications

Rudy Huyn has just announced that he has added a new feature to his amazingly popular 6snap application for Windows Phone devices, the ability to take screenshots.

Although the official SnapChat application available in Android and iOS allows users to take screenshots, this feature can’t be included in the Windows Phone version due to technical limitations of the mobile platform.

However, it appears that Rudy has found a way to integrate this feature into his 6snap application, so that users can take screenshots with the touch of a button: “But I've found a smarter way to do: block screenshots, add a ‘fake’ screenshot button, send notification and after that, save the picture.”

You can now snap a photo, caption or video and send it to a friend or a few friends. Still, Rudy removed the option to send a screenshot to “All” in order to avoid turning his app into a spamchat.

In order to take a screenshot with 6snap, you only need to click on your phone’s camera button. Those who own smartphones that lack physical camera buttons should know that the developer promised to add a virtual button in 6snap. Keep in mind that all screenshots will be stored in Saved Pictures folder.

You can now download 6snap for Windows Phone 2.9 for free via Windows Phone Store. The application is only compatible with devices powered by Windows Phone 8 and up.
