How much will it cost?

This picture on the left was taken at a Samsung presentation meant for presenting the company's new product, a 60GB 1.8 inch hard drive. While this is a long shot, some of you may think that this means that a 60GB PSP is bound to come our way.

The image was brought to the public's attention by Gizmodo, who are playing it safe and categorize this as pure speculation. A 60GB PSP would be great but highly improbable. Given the fact that the PSP is and always will be tied to the UMD drive, a hard drive in a PSP would add so much bulk and weight, not to mention the battery drain.

Looks like some are trying to beat the iPod and create a machine with immense media capabilities, but it will be a tough job implementing a 60GB drive and not change the PSP's shape dramatically. On top of this, what would be the retail price? No less than US$ 500 some might say?and who would pay 500 bucks for a handheld? Yeah, it would be open to a lot of homebrew possibilities, but to cost almost as much as its brother, the PS3?

What are the chances for a brand new 60Gb device to cost less than US$ 200? If it is a Sony product, the chances are extremely slender. They can't afford another huge loss leader like the PlayStation 3. And furthermore, why does everyone has to copy the Apple silhouette in their marketing campaigns?
