The local aquarium in Lyme Regis, Dorset is now home to a monster lobster named Claws. The creature is abnormally big, sports one really frightening claw and is believed to be about 60 years old.

Sources say that the lobster measures 2.5 feet (0.76 meters) from head to tail.

The fishermen who pulled it out of the sea agreed to let the aquarium have it after they had decided that Claws looked too impressive to be boiled and turned into somebody's dinner.

Also, as aquarium owner Max Gollop points out, “Fishermen get paid for the weight when selling lobsters but over a certain limit that doesn't apply because the meat is too tough.”

Claws will get to spend this summer at the Lyme Regis aquarium, and will be returned to the sea once autumn sets in.

“He'll stay with us at the aquarium for summer then in September we'll release him back into the sea. The kids are in awe of him,” Max Gollop tells the press.
