A new collection of stylish peripherals is now available from Microsoft Hardware. The Redmond company announced the release of a new line of wireless mobile mice, that come with unique designs set up to personalize each device.
The Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 Studio Series line features a total of six designs, and users can watch the video embedded at the bottom of this article in order to get an idea about the sources of inspirations used and the design process.
In the video, Microsoft’s Lindsey Kujawski and Kate Bailey explain the steps taken into the creation of the Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 Studio Series line.
“The new patterns were inspired by the places that people will use them – around the house, at a coffee shop, on a park bench – so they fit in with these environments and become a little piece of everyday art,” Kujawski revealed.
According to Microsoft, the new Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 Studio Series devices will come with a price tag of $39.95.
Kujawski notes that Best Buy and Best Buy.com will be the exclusive sources of the Micro, Botanic and Cosmic patterns.
The remaining patterns, namely Downtown, Crania and Pirouette will be offered to customers through additional retail outlets, both online and in-store come September 2010.
Microsoft enumerated some of the top features of the devices:
“• Snap-in Nano transceiver gives consumers the option to leave the transceiver plugged into the computer or conveniently store it under the mouse.
• BlueTrack Technology lets people ditch their mouse pad and use their mouse on virtually any surface,1 including granite, marble, carpet and wood.
• Ambidextrous design and rubber side grips give consumers comfort and durability anywhere it’s used.
• 2.4GHz wireless technology gives consumers a confident wireless connection.
• Two-color battery light indicator warns consumers when it’s time to replace the battery.”
