A new set of photos reportedly depicting the upcoming Huawei Ascend Mate smartphone has made it online, along with a teaser from the company, meant to raise awareness on the upcoming device.

The handset is said to arrive on shelves with a 6.1-inch full HD touchscreen display, a 1.8GHz K3V2 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 13MP camera on the back, and Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean loaded on top.

The new phablet is expected to make an official appearance at CES 2013 in Las Vegas in January, aiming at proving a worthy rival for Samsung’s Galaxy Note II.

In the photos below, available courtesy of MyDrivers, you can see the handset accompanied by a smaller, white smartphone, which is said to be none other than Huawei’s Ascend D2, also expected to be showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show.
