With the new Nintendo Wii U just a few months from launch, a number of developers have speculated on the exact capabilities of the device and whether it was more powerful than the current generation from Sony and Microsoft.

Jeremiah Slaczka, who is the chief executive officer of 5th Cell, has told Game Informer that the Wii U is “definitely more powerful than Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It’s kind of frustrating to see the rumours and speculation of people going back and forth saying it’s weaker or more powerful.”

He insisted, “It’s definitely more powerful. I think we were one of the first developers to see the Wii U.”

Microsoft has recently insisted that the Wii U was not as powerful as the Xbox 360.

Nintendo has not yet offered a clear launch date for the Wii U but says that it will be available before the height of the Christmas shopping season.

The device also lacks an official price.
