La Toya Jackson, sister of the late pop superstar Michael Jackson, has reportedly gone to the altar in a ceremony that took place on Friday, December 6, in Los Angeles.

Radar claims that 57-year-old Jackson has married longtime friend and business partner Jeffre Phillips. He had already asked her to marry him on her reality show “Life with La Toya” earlier this year. The two were seen as friends but, during the first season of her show, La Toya seemed to be looking for a boyfriend.

By the end of the season, Jeffre managed to get permission to marry the star from her father, Joe Jackson, and then proceeded to propose to La Toya in Hawaii. It would seem that, compared to other reality shows out there these days, “Life with La Toya” does keep more than a little dose of reality.

Among other people from the Jackson family present at the ceremony were Jackson's mother Katherine and nephew Prince.

Phillips has been friends with La Toya for a long time and was quoted as saying about her, “I met everyone in her family before her. I knew Michael and Jermaine and everyone before I met La Toya and to be honest I thought she was the odd one! Then I met her and saw how smart and talented she was and we just became instant friends.”

Apart from currently starring in her own reality show, La Toya Jackson, who's also done a bit of singing herself, has previously come to the attention of the international media when she posed nude in Playboy Magazine back in the 80s.

This isn't her first time down the aisle, as she's been married before to former manager Jack Gordon in 1989. That marriage was fraught with abuse, as La Toya claimed she had been forced into the relationship by Gordon ,who said it was “for her own good.”
