14 DAY TRIAL // The Humane Society of the United States is pleased to announce that as many as 55 dogs have recently been rescued from a suspected puppy mill in Iredell County in North Carolina.
On its website, the organization details that, at the time when the Iredell County Sheriff's Office raided the property, the pooches were all found living in awful conditions.
More precisely, they were kept trapped inside very small cages, and many of them had several injuries on their bodies as a result of this.
Besides, their fur was extremely matted, and many of them were suffering from various medical conditions that they had only come to develop due to appalling conditions they were living in.
The Humane Society says that the dogs' owner willingly agreed to part with them, and that, after being rescued, the pooches were taken to the Iredell County Animal Shelter and the Guilford County Animal Shelter.
Here, they will receive the medical care that they so direly need and, hopefully, it will not be long until they get back on their paws.
Commenting in this raid and its outcome, Kim Alboum said that “For far too long, dogs have been suffering like this in puppy mills across the North Carolina.”
Furthermore, “This rescue, along with the 16 other we've assisted with in the past 3 years, demonstrates the need for stronger laws in North Carolina. We're so grateful to Iredell County Animal Control for coming to the aid of these dogs.”
