Photography sharing and discovery site 500px is launching an updated iOS application, this time targeting smaller screens. Previously available solely on the iPad – where it made the most sense to view crisp photo galleries – 500px is now making its iPhone debut.

Available as a universal app that applies to all iDevices, 500px is now available on iPhone and iPod touch with a redesigned interface, an improved look and feel for the iPad, avatar upload for profiles, and compatibility with iOS 6.

Users can customize their visual presence on 500px straight from their device now. The iPhone 5 with its elongated four-inch Retina display is also fully supported, as is the iPad mini with its standard 1024x768 screen resolution.

500px for iPhone introduces the service’s “Flow” timeline feature which has been optimized for mobile devices for the first time ever
