Bad boy 50 Cent and The Divine Miss M., as Bette Midler is often referred to in the media, have been spotted together at social events before, but they never seemed as close as they did the other day. The answer to this unlikely friendship might be found, aside from their joint venture for charity, in a future duet between the two, as MyParkMag reveals, citing the two stars themselves.

According to the e-zine, both Bette and Fiddy have come out clean about wanting to work together – even more, they have already started putting thought into action, which might mean that fans will soon get to see the results of this truly unique, some say terribly inspired collaboration. That, or the duet will go down in history as one of the most daring attempts at making music genres meet, music-oriented publications point out.

Apparently, 50 has made Bette’s life worth living again, from what the legendary singer says. “He is one of the newest members of our tribe. He has really made my life worth living. 50 has been with me through thick and thin. I really can’t rap, but I’d like to sing in the background on 'Get Rich or Die Tryin.'” Bette reportedly said not long ago. And, just in case fans were wondering about the possibility of such a collaboration, one must note that Fiddy too would not say no to the idea – quite on the contrary actually.

“Look how beautiful things are and how nice it feels when I’m around her. Me and Bette collaborating would be really hot. But I’d need to make something new for her. For the right song, we’d definitely get together.” the rapper explains. The feeling of love and admiration is mutual, both on a personal and a professional level, as Bette describes 50 as “the Godfather of Jamaica, Queens,” a truly “gorgeous” man.

Until such a collaboration becomes real, though, fans of the rapper are still waiting for the official release date for his much-delayed album “Before I Self-Destruct.” Initially scheduled for December 2008, the album was pushed back a couple of times more, until 50 Cent finally announced that he would not be releasing it before Eminem’s “Relapse” dropped. Since that happened a couple of days ago, Fiddy should be making his announcement too soon enough, so keep an eye on this space for when he does.
