50 Cent Dropping Blood in the Sand

- “Bullet ridden adventure” is the tag line

By: Andrei Dumitrescu, Games Editor

When 50 Cent: Bulletproof hit late in 2005, most people said that maybe 50 should stick to music, a game he knows how to play, rather than lend his name to a videogame that made Gamespot create a whole new category, called "Worst Game that Everyone Played," just for it. The game was poorly received by critics and gamers alike, yet it managed decent sales on the power of 50 Cent's name.

Now, Vivendi Universal is talking sequel, which
in our minds is a questionable decision. Apparently, the game will bear the title 50 Cent: Blood in the Sand and will no longer take its inspiration from the thug past of the singer. Instead, it will try and bring gamers a worldwide adventure that features 50 Cent as the main character, with a supporting cast made up of G-Unit members, most of which will be playable at one point or another in the game.

Aaron Blean, who is a Vivendi Games producer for the game, said: "We've emphasized the gameplay quality than anything this time around. We can't wait to show the game around." So, no more bad aiming and lame movement complete with poor objectives? Apparently not.

"I would say it's inspired by 'Three Kings' meets 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels'," Bean said when inquired about the inspiration sources for the new game. The quoted movies are pretty impressive sources although I'm not sure how you can fit a rapper and former thug in any of those scenarios.

Apart from the shooting and running which will take part on the sand mentioned in the title, there are bound to be some driving portions and even 50 Cent flying around with an attack helicopter spraying bullets at enemies. It seems the "blood" in the game's title is not 50's.

Aaron Bean also revealed that the game would feature a music score composed and played by 50 Cent and videos featuring the rapper.
