Imagine what it would feel like to watch (as a spectator) the BET awards and see 50 Cent, whom you like, or at least tolerate, not quite synchronized with his voice on the CD. Now imagine being 50 Cent caught on camera while lip-syncing. Isn't that like...a rap no-no? At least that's what I know.

So the story goes like this: while performing at the BET awards, 50 Cent came down from the heavens in a steel cage, and while the song was playing, he tried to undress, therefore distancing the microphone from his lips (I repeat, while his voice was playing in the song). So his microphone was way out of range, his voice was still being heard in the speakers but his mouth was quite shut.

Well, that would've been less embarrassing if, later on in the song, while DJ Whoo Kidd was toying around with the instrumental, 50 Cent was still moving his lips, trying to mouth the lyrics. But there was no sound from his mic. Even after that, the "fun" wasn't over. While waiting for his cue, 50 Cent kept wondering around the stage while fellow rapper Tony Yayo was trying to save the day by improvising some words. That didn't work either, as both rappers and the audience were quite confused by the whole thing. It was too late when 50 realized the problem and tried to save himself the shame of being caught lip-syncing a rap song by cutting his "performance" short. Come on guys, not even Britney makes such a fool of herself on-stage. Well, not for the entire song, at least.

People attending the show were shocked, to say the least. One of them told reporters that "The whole thing was so embarrassing. To get caught like that in front of millions of people is almost unimaginable." Well duh! For years, rappers prided themselves on not resorting to lip-syncing and other such tools of cheap dance music and 50 Cent was always insisting on the fact that he's keeping the spirit of gangsta' rap alive and true. Yeah, well so is Britney! It was truly a dark day for the famous rapper, and an embarrassment for the whole G-Unit crew. And this sensation will linger around for a while, as the recording was posted on every video website you can think of, as a testimony of 50 Cent's current value.
