14 DAY TRIAL // Supermodel Miranda Kerr is pregnant with Orlando Bloom’s first child but she’s not letting that get in the way of her doing her job as a model: so she took to the catwalks in Paris.
Not only is the Angel in top shape and more gorgeous than ever, but she’s also hardly showing, as People magazine notes, which is probably why she’s on the catwalk in the first place.
This must definitely be a first, since pregnant models are not that much in demand for the obvious reason: a few extra pounds, the magazine says.
However, we’re not talking about just any model here, but about Miranda, one of the highest paid models of the day, as well as one of the hottest Victoria’s Secret Angels.
“Having a few extra pounds on you may be cause for rejection among most models, but when you’re Miranda Kerr, it lands you a lead role in the hottest fashion show in town,” People writes.
“The five-month pregnant Victoria’s Secret supermodel took to the catwalk with fellow glamazon and new mom Gisele Bundchen today during Paris Fashion Week to model in the Balenciaga spring / summer 2011 show,” the publication informs.
With such models on the catwalk, it’s no wonder the front row was also celebrity-packed.
“The front row was graced by French It-girl Charlotte Gainsbourg, Salma Hayek (with husband François-Henri Pinault) and most importantly, Miranda’s husband, Orlando Bloom,” People goes on to say.
According to Balenciaga designer Nicolas Ghesquière, who has worked with Miranda on several occasions in the past, he wanted to emphasize a side of the model that is rarely seen when she works for Victoria’s Secret.
“Victoria’s Secret are using the cute side of Miranda Kerr. I wanted to show she could have a more experimental, edgy side,” the designer said a while back, as per the same publication.
They managed to bring that out by putting Miranda in a patterned jacket with loafers, minimal makeup and a very stern hairdo – to the maximum effect.
Kerr and longtime beau Orlando Bloom tied the knot this summer after a surprise engagement and the even more surprising news that they were to become parents.
