The Vision M35 gets the latest and greatest AMD processors

The FX-9000 series of central processing units from Advanced Micro Devices is eagerly making the rounds among the ranks of custom-configured desktop systems, in this case Velocity Micro.

Velocity Micro is not the first company we have found that has put together a computer powered by the latest and best AMD FX central processing units.

In fact, we've written about such offers from Origin PC and Mouse Computer already.

The computer from Velocity Micro is no less noteworthy though, and not just because of the 8-core processors themselves.

They also have high maximum storage and RAM (random access memory) capabilities, as well as one or more graphics cards.

Nevertheless, the processors will be largely responsible for the higher customer awareness, since there isn't anything new on other fronts.

"AMD FX Processors have allowed us to reach that 5.0 GHz milestone that seemed so far away just a few years ago," said Randy Copeland, president and CEO of Velocity Micro.

"With up to 5.0 GHz Max Turbo frequency, the Vision M35 is an absolute monster and a great representation of the Velocity Micro brand. We're thrilled to have been a part of AMD's launch of these amazing processors."

For those seeking a reminder as to what the chips can do, the AMD FX-9590 and FX-9370 are 8-core CPUs with 16 MB L2/L3 cache (each) and unlocked multipliers (meaning they can be overclocked a great deal).

The former has a base clock speed of 4.7 GHz and a top Turbo Core frequency of 5 GHz, while the latter is a bit slower, with 4.4 GHz and 4.7 GHz frequencies, respectively.

All the hardware is put together inside a case that, while large, is not all that embellished. It must have contributed to the price not being any higher than it is.

The Velocity Micro Vision m35 desktop powered by AMD FX-9000 series processors has a starting price of $2,799 / €2,130 – 2,799.
