Online music stores evolve; and they do evolve at speeds which sometimes exceed the speed at which hew, hi-tech gear enters our homes and living rooms. It's been few days since the online music markets have been stirred with Apple teaming up with EMI, Yahoo "marrying" SanDsik to nurse Sansa and so on. Things change and not only do they change in what "who sells-what" is concerned but as well in "who gives you the most interesting things"-direction.
It's now time to announce another betrothal: MusicGiants (they sell music and
are big) will develop a common platform for the oncoming HD Audio tracks (5.1) with the multimedia center gods, Niveus Media.
What will come of this partnership? Only cool things for those who like their music at HD standards: the "availability of high definition 2.0 stereo and 5.1 surround sound music downloadable on Niveus' 2007 Windows Vista-based media centers!" as declared by Niveus in their latest press release. This means that once you own a new, Vista-loaded Niveus media center and have its wide hi-res HD TV screen all dangling and shining on your wall, you will instantly be able to download your fav tracks directly to it, from MusicGiants. Equals lots of convenient and hi-tech musical fun.
The same press release also says: "MusicGiants, which launched in 2005, is the only music download service to offer high-definition, digital recordings from the top music companies such as EMI Music, Sony BMG Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group." (Vista) Wow(s): it's the 4 major! Put Vista (Microsoft) near them and think further... I won't, at least not now, not here.
For those who don't know yet, the Niveus 2007 media centers run on Windows Vista Ultimate; Core 2 Duo processors, HD DVD and CableCARD compatibility for exceptional HD television viewing and recording and are among the few who reach such high standards. The 2007 series includes the Summit, Rainier and Denali models as well as the Pro Series n7 and n9.
