4MLinux Media Edition 5.1 Has Audacity 2.0.3

4MLinux Media Edition, a special distribution with a wide set of multimedia tools and software, is now at version 5.1.

As expected, it uses 4MLinux 5.1 as the core, but it has a few other applications: for playing (MPlayer SVN-r35564-4.7.0, xine 1.2.2, TiMidity++ 2.14.0, MikMod 3.2.2), recording (Audacity 2.0.3, SoX 14.4.1), and ripping media (cdrkit 1.1.11, MEncoder SVN-r35564-4.7.0, FFmpeg Git-2012.12.02).

Xpdf 3.0.3, a viewer for PDF type files, and XPaint 2.9.9, a paint program for X, suitable for producing simple graphics, have also been included in the operating system.

4MLinux is a mini Linux distribution focusing on the following four "M": Maintenance (system rescue Live CD), Multimedia (e.g. playing video DVDs), Miniserver (using the inetd daemon), and Mystery (a collection of Linux games).
