4MLinux Core, a mini Linux distro focusing on Maintenance (system rescue Live CD), Multimedia (e.g., playing video DVDs), Miniserver (using the inetd daemon), and Mystery (Linux games), is now at version 5.1.

4MLinux Core 5.1 integrates all the new features introduced in the previous versions, with an additional possibility of a fully automatic upgrade to 4MLinux Allinone Edition, when it becomes available. It will also become the basis for all 4MLinux distributions.

Highlights of 4MLinux Core 5.1:

• Linux kernel has been updated to version Linux 3.7.1;
• glibc has been updated to version 2.15;
• Busybox has been updated to version 1.20.2.

4MLinux 5.1 applications have been compiled under Fedora 17 (x86/32-bit/SMP) with GNU Compiler Collection 4.7.0.

A complete list of changes and new features is available in the official announcement.
