4MLinux Allinone Edition 9.1 Beta, a Linux distro focusing on the Maintenance (system rescue Live CD), Multimedia (e.g. playing video DVDs), Miniserver (using the inetd daemon), and Mystery (Linux games) 4M editions, is now available for download and testing.

The 4MLinux developer has a new development version of the Allinone edition, bringing a number of new packages and some important updates.

“This release has Wine 1.7.22, which is able to run Mozilla software (Firefox 30.0, SeaMonkey 2.26.1, and Thunderbird 24.6.0) with Flash Player 12 support enabled.”

“4MLinux Printing Suite 9.1 and 4MLinux QtPack (Qt 4.8.6 and 5.3.1, QupZilla Git-2014-06-25, SMplayer with SMTube SVN r6262) are also included. FTP (WinSCP 5.5.3), IRC (Irssi 0.8.16rc1, XChat 2.8.9), P2P (rTorrent 0.9.4, eMule 0.50a), and SSH (PuTTY 0.63) clients are available, too,” said the developer in the official announcement.

The developer also made some improvements to the booting sequence, and users don’t have to manually start the X server in order to get access to the desktop. The size of the ISO is about 145MB and the distribution packs quite a few applications.

A complete list of changes can be found in the official announcement. Users can also download 4MLinux Allinone Edition 9.1 Beta right now from Softpedia.

Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
