The size of the ISO for this version is a little bigger than the previous images for this particular distribution

4MLinux Allinone Edition is a Linux operating system built from scratch that aims to be one of the smallest distros in the world that still retain much of the regular functionality of a normal OS. The developer has just released version 10.0, which comes with some very important features.

Each new major release of the 4MLinux distro is usually heralded by the Allinone Edition, which encompasses all the various flavors under one banner. This means that each of the other distros in the series will be smaller than this one. At 392 MB, this is definitely one of the smallest ones that you can find, if you take into consideration all of the features that are present.

There are other small Linux distros out there and the competition is fierce. Users need to keep in mind that this is a Live CD, with a desktop environment already in place. All these components need to be taken into consideration when we compare the size of the ISO with that of the other Linux-based operating systems that want the same thing, and that is to be really small.

It's also worth mentioning that there are other operating systems much smaller than this one, but 4MLinux also comes with a desktop environment, it can be used as a Live CD, and it can be easily installed by anyone. Sure enough, you might find something smaller than 4MLinux, but not with all the amenities.

4MLinux Allinone Edition 10.0 gets some new features

New 4M Linux releases don't really bring anything out of the ordinary. The developer usually implements new features slowly and incrementally, but some of the new options can't be added over time. The same is true for the current version, which comes with a couple of very interesting additions.

"The final release has all the features included in 4MLinux 10.0 Rescue Edition, 4MLinux 10.0 Media Edition, 4MLinux 10.0 Server Edition, and 4MLinux 10.0 Game Edition."

"Two major changes in user space: support for touchscreens has been added (they can be calibrated via xinput calibrator), and support for webcams has been improved. The size of the final ISO image is now much bigger, because it includes optional software (drivers and development packages)," notes the dev on his blog.

A complete list of changes can be found in the official announcement. Users can also download 4MLinux Allinone Edition 10.0 right now from Softpedia. This is a Live CD and it works very well in a virtual environment like VirtualBox, for example.
