After
Samsung's SGH-i300 and
Nokia's N91, which will be out on the market soon, Sony Ericsson decided to make a move by launching the new W950i, in an attempt to surpass the rival handsets. Sony Ericsson's
W950i has a slim and stylish design with only 15 mm thickness. The handset has an impressive 4GB of flash memory and it seems to be based on the same platform as the recently announced M600i business phone.
Sony Ericsson W950i comes with a „Mystic Purple" color scheme and contains 3G connectivity, a 2.6 inch high-resolution touchscreen with handwriting recognition, 5 way navigational keypad, a stereo FM radio with RDS,
Bluetooth 1.2 with streaming audio support and USB 2.0 connectivity which enables the fast data transfer from PC to the phone. The phone runs on Symbian OS platform and features Opera 8.0 for Internet browsing, RSS reader and support for
MP3 and AAC files. Sony Ericsson claimed a 10 hours of music playback for W950i walkman phone.
The handset will be available in Europe during the third quarter of 2006; however, nothing's known about its price at the moment.
