The newcomer has GDDR5 VRAM and the TwinFrozr IV cooler

It's one thing to launch a customized video card, and another to give said card twice the amount of memory, but here we are.

Normally I'd be tempted to say this is a trick meant to digest MSI's inventory of memory chips, but the supply-demand problem on the DRAM market was last year's issue, and it's not like it affected GDDR5 much anyway. DDR3 had the problems.

Thus, I can only assume that MSI wanted to turn the GeForce GTX 770 into a really powerful video card, so it gave it 4 GB of memory instead of 2 GB.

It didn't stop there either. MSI also overclocked the RAM from 6 GHz to 7 GHz, and pushed the GPU higher than normal too, to 1137 MHz core, 1189 MHz GPU Boost (versus reference 1,046 / 1,085 MHz).

To cope with the higher heat generation, the TwinFrozr IV cooling solution is used, with 100 mm fans.

Sales should start soon, but we're not sure when, or for what price. It will probably be of around $450 / €450.
