Google isn't saying anything about the app or its disappearance

The Grooveshark app surprisingly resurfaced in the Google Play Store a couple of days ago, signaling perhaps that Google had gotten over the record labels' whining and reinstated the legal until proven otherwise app.

That wasn't the case, it seems, as the Grooveshark app is now gone from the store once again.

Speculating as to what's happening behind the scenes is becoming a stretch. We have no idea why the app made it back into the store in the first place, so figuring out why it was pulled back down 48 hours later is next to impossible.

Grooveshark was quite happy to have the app back up there and it seemed that it had worked together with Google to make it happen.

But what Grooveshark actually said was that it was "delighted that the official Grooveshark app has been reinstated," without actually saying whether it had something to do with it or not. For what it's worth, users can get the app from Grooveshark directly.
