Over the weekend, on Saturday, hundreds of people gathered to celebrate the opening of a new Halloween scream park at Mead Open Farm near the town of Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire, UK.

Of the folks who attended the event, 464 tried their vocal cords at setting a new world record. A new record for the most people howling like wolves in unison, that is.

These 464 wolf-wannabes howled for a full minute, all facing the same direction. Some let out rather squeaky howls and so didn't really scare anybody, but the event's organizers were quite pleased with how things turned out.

Now, all that's left is for officials with Guinness World Records to verify the number of howlers and if they really did howl for one full minute facing the same direction. Then, a certificate testifying to this new world record will be issued.

“I think that's fairly well smashed the World Record, so hopefully that gets in the Guinness Book of Records, just have to do one or two little verifying things that the marshals or stewards to check up on,” said organizer Matt Heast.

According to Guinness World Records, the current world record for the most people howling like wolves in unison was established in 2013 by 296 students at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, US. Still, there's talk that, in 2014, 535 people did it at the Polar Park zoo in Norway.
