£425 PS3 Starter Pack - 2 x SIXAXIS + 2 x In-House Games!

An official report dated 13th July 2007, says that Sony Computer Entertainment UK (SCE UK) has announced the availability of a high value Starter Pack for their PlayStation 3, comprising two first party games, two SIXAXIS controllers, and of course the machine itself at just £425. Not a price cut says Sony, just an offer (probably limited).

Available in the UK starting with 18th July, and across all European territories by 1st August, the new Starter Pack represents exceptional value for money as an entry point into the exciting world of High Definition interactive entertainment with PLAYSTATION 3, says the press release. Which isn't all that exciting, unless you read on that is.

Apparently, the choice of first party games available in the Starter Pack will vary to suit the interests of entertainment enthusiasts in each country, include even popular titles such as Resistance Fall of Man and, as the press release says, MotorStorm. Why do they still think Motorstorm is so popular among PS3 gamers...? Don't they want anything new?

"With sell through of over 1.2 million units in the SCEE territories to date, PLAYSTATION 3 has proved to be an instant and huge success", said David Reeves, President of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.

"The exceptional value of the new Starter Pack will bring the excitement of PlayStation gaming to a much wider audience. Add to this a stellar lineup of software titles for the second half of the year and we are confident that this amazing value Starter Pack will encourage many more keen gamers to join the PLAYSTATION 3 community".

So for 425 Euros, you get the PS3 (the 60 giger most likely), two Sony-developed games (which despite all of the bad publicity surrounding the PS3, should totally rock - there's nothing compared to in-house made games, as far as Sony is concerned, e.g: God of War) and two wireless SIXAXIS controllers. Thus, if you live in the UK, I'd say you shouldn't waste anymore time - this is the best PlayStation 3 offer I've heard of so far.
