The SANS Institute has conducted a study on mobile application security. According to the results, many organization employees install apps they use for business purposes on the same devices on which they have risky applications installed.

According to the numbers, 80% of the 600 respondents installed collaborative and communications apps on their personal mobile devices. General Internet apps, such as web browsers and media file sharing apps, are also installed on the devices of 60% of the respondents.

Even more worrying is the fact that 44% of subjects admitted allowing VPN access from their personal device, while 26% allow direct access to business systems. Control system applications can be accessed from the devices of 4% of the respondents.

66% of the survey participants said they were protecting business assets by securing their devices and mobile platforms. Only 36% of organizations practice application lifecycle management.

The complete results of the study will be shared on June 6 in a webcast at 1 PM EDT. If you register for the webcast, you will receive access to the paper.
