Eight people have been shot in Texas, with four of them incurring fatal wounds. Police have apprehended the suspect.

Four more people are currently in the hospital with gunshot wounds. A 14 and an 11-year-old boy are among those injured, ABC News reports. They are currently being treated at Children's Medical Center of Dallas.

According to KTVT-TV, the shooter was caught in DeSoto, Texas, a suburban area near Dallas. Erbie Bowser was looking to shoot his girlfriend and made it to two houses where he opened fire.

Dallas police Sgt. Warren Mitchell informed that he first targeted a residence in Dallas at 10:30 p.m. He shot four people there and killed two of them. He then made his way to a second home in DeSoto, seven miles (11 km) away.

He was looking for his girlfriend and thought that he would find her in Dallas. When he didn't, he tracked her down to the second crime scene.

He arrived there at 10:45 p.m. and he first threw an explosive device inside the residence. It went off hurting two more people and producing two casualties.

"We thought it was coming from upstairs because the kids are always upstairs making noise," neighbor Tommy Johnson describes.

"I went up and asked, 'Did y'all hear anything?' and one of my daughters said it came from outside, so I peeped out the front, and that's when I saw a bunch of officers walking down the sidewalk about 10 houses up," he says.

He then hid among the victims and pretended to be injured, but he was spotted by police officers. He did not resist arrest and he was taken to the police station. No charges have been brought as of yet.

The survivors of the attack are recovering at Parkland Hospital and Methodist Dallas Medical Center.
