One photographer used several hundred images to create the stunning view

Panoramic images are becoming a popular hobby among some photographers. There's a race between the most dedicated to see who can create the largest and most detailed. But sometimes, size isn't everything, if you have exclusivity.

And, as far as Martian panoramas are concerned, Curiosity has that corner of the market all to herself. There have been plenty of spectacular images shot by the rover and some great panoramic views as well.

But since all the photos shot by Curiosity are in the public domain, since they're published by NASA, you don't have to wait for something official to come out.

Photographer and 360Cities user Andrew Bodrov grabbed a bunch of images shot by the rover during sols 136 and 149, 295 with the Narrow Angle Camera and 112 with the Medium Angle Camera. He used them to put together a 4 gigapixel (90,000 by 45,000 pixels) panoramic photo, available on 360Cities.
