Market watcher Displaybank deems this a 51.8% sequential increase

A while ago, a report arose that said 20% of all notebook sold during the first quarter of 2013 had support for touchscreen input.

Now another one had been made, which only partially corroborates that story.

Market watcher Displaybank found that 4.57 million units sold during the first quarter of 2013.

That means that, during the January-March period, the increase in touchscreen notebook shipments was of 51.8% compared to the previous three-month period.

The figure represents 10% of the total notebook market, not 20%, although ASUS, Acer and Lenovo, at least, want to break the 20% mark soon. Devices like the newly released IdeaPad 11S may or may not help with that.

Either way, the growing trend will definitely continue, even if the goals of each company won't always be attained.
