Expected to be launched in early April, the 3G version of Motorola’s XOOM has just been listed by one of the UK's major retailers.

The tablet is exclusively available at Carphone Warehouse for no less than £579.99, after the seller slashed £20 from the suggested retail price.

The tablet can also be purchased for as low as £199.99 with a new two-year £25 per month contract.

However, this deal includes a discounted line rental, which may be by redemption, automatic cheque-back, or be automatically applied to the customer's bill.

The £25 average cost is how much the subscribers would pay on average once the discount has been applied.

Besides Carphone Warehouse, Best Buy UK is also expected to start selling the tablet soon, as the two retailers have joint exclusivity over the 3G version, in stores and online.

It is unclear why Best Buy UK hasn't made any announcements regarding the device's availability yet, but it appears that Carphone Warehouse has it in stock and is ready to deliver.

None of the retailers is selling the Motorola XOOM accessories that have been advertised along with the tablet: a standard dock, a speaker HD Dock and a custom keyboard with Bluetooth wireless technology and special Android shortcut keys.

It appears that these accessories will be available at a later date, as they have been listed as 'Coming Soon.'

Featuring a 10.1-inch widescreen HD display with 1280 x 800 pixels resolution, the 3G Motorola XOOM has full support for HSDPA and HSUPA.

The tablet runs Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) and sports a 2-megapixel front facing camera, as well as a 5-megapixel main camera on the back, which is also capable of capturing HD movies (720p@30fps).

Powered by a dual-core 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 AP20H processor, the tablet also offers the latest Google Mobile services such as Google Maps 5.0 with 3D interaction, plus support for Adobe Flash Player.
