That's quite a way beyond the $30,000 that the designers hoped for

Kickstarter has hosted lots of projects over the years, some more successful than others, but there is occasionally one that completely blows all the others out of the water.

The 3Doodler is one such project. Introduced back in February, it is a pen that can draw things on paper and in the air, out of plastic.

The financing goal of $30,000 / 23,445 Euro was swiftly reached, then surpassed in a most spectacular fashion.

It looks like people didn't feel that $1.5 million (1.17 million Euro) was enough though, so they kept donating until the funding period ended.

In the end, the 3Doodler got off with $2,344,134 / 1,832,069 Euro. Saying this was a good haul would greatly understate things.

We expect 3Doodlers to make their way to stores sooner rather than later.
