Video game hardware maker Nintendo has announced that it has plans to deliver a version of its Circle Pad Pro attachment for the new 3DS XL handheld during this year, although the company has not yet offered an official date or a price for the peripheral.

A Question & Answer session that was hosted by Japanese magazine Famitsu also revealed that gamers would be able to move their data between the normal 3DS and the new XL version.

The 3DS stand that came packaged with the Kid Icarus Uprising release was also confirmed as being compatible with the Nintendo 3DS XL.

The new version of the leading Nintendo handheld will be launched on July 28 of the year on the Japanese market and in Europe.

American gamers will have to wait until August 19 in order to get access to it and they will also receive New Super Mario Bros 2 as part of the package.
