Futuremark released a minor update for their PC benchmark software, 3DMark. Version 1.1.0 of the application brings to the table a new benchmark and a few repairs.

3DMark Advanced Edition includes Ice Storm Extreme test, which has been designed for Windows tablets, ultrabooks and notebooks.

It increases the rendering resolution to 1080p and creates a more demanding workload for the mobile devices thanks to textures and post-processing effects of a better quality.

Ice Storm and Ice Storm Extreme results from Windows and Android devices can be compared. However, the scores are notably higher for hardware with multiple GPUs (three or four), in GPUs in Ice Storm, Cloud Gate and Fire Strike.

The fixes included in this release refer to the issue with Windows update KB2670838 that added partial support for DX11.1 on Windows 7.

Also eliminated is the problem with the bloom post-processing effect when using high rendering resolutions. Furthermore, 3DMark should no longer create trouble on systems with up to four GPUs.
