Kids with disabilities are suddenly the most dangerous, so tread lightly

For better or worse, Wolverine is one of the most popular super heroes (or anti-heroes) in current media, and, thus, his claws are also really popular with kids, despite them having more figurative blood on them than most actual, real weapons.

Aaron Brown, a volunteer over at E-nabling The Future (the group driving the 3D printed prosthetics initiative), decided to give kids with disabilities the chance to feel like they're part of the X-Men mythos themselves.

What he did was create fake claws that can be incorporated into 3D printed prosthetics. You know, those awesome replacement hands that cost around $50 / €50 instead of $50,000 / €50,000 while being a lot better at everything.

This way, every kid forced to wear a prosthetic will feel like a superhero, or that's the general idea. Whether bullies get intimidated by them or just see them as another reason to pick on the cripple is up in the air.

Depressing turn of topic aside, the claws have rounded tips and a silver-painted finish. They aren't harmful at all because of that. Also, they can be removed or attached thanks to the velcro base.

No word on whether or not 3D printed X-23-inspired foot claws are planned for prosthetic feet.
