3D printing technology is being used for many things, and while footwear isn't very high on the world's to do list, we have seen some shoes being made with this technology.

Apparently, the footwear that was 3D printed in the past turned out well enough that beauty pageant organizers have decided to offer them the chance to dazzle men and women attending the upcoming 2014 Miss America Parade.

The parade will take place on September 13 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and will host a number of different aisle walk-ons.

The one we're concerned with is the “Miss America ‘Show Us Your Shoes’ Parade.” There, you will see a pair of 3D printed footwear created by Georgia Tech for Miss Georgia, Maggie Bridges.

She is actually a Georgia Tech student herself and designed the shoes with help from some fellow students. The things aren't fully 3D printed, but it's still a big deal considering what serious business every article of clothing is in these events.

In addition to 3D printing, the students used laser cutters and CNC machines to design and build Miss Georgia's shoes. The white wall acrylic, the four headlights and the wheels are the 3D printed sections. Watch the video below to check out the car-like objects.
