They may or may not become a blast at parties, depending on your view

Sometimes, the way human inventions evolve totally backwards leaves me awestruck. Or dumbstruck, depending on the bizarreness of the situation. I'm not sure how to qualify 3D printed gummy humans.

On the one hand, cannibalism is not fun, so anything that even remotely emulates the act is, likewise, not awesome.

On the other hand, having children eat gummy bears isn't that well-adjusted either. Especially when said bears have anything resembling clothing, which basically means you're feeding your kid replicas of sentient beings.

Whatever was going on in the mind of the folks at a FabCafe in Shibuya, Japan, it has yielded results: 3D printed gummy humans. Small, colored, sweet, and chewy people wearing suits. Because that can't possible send the wrong message.

What the FabCafe did was take 3D full body scans of customers, upload them to a computer, and 3D print a plastic mold of the individuals. Those molds were then given to the customers, who poured jelly candy on them and let them sit for a while, until the Gummy Humans solidified enough to turn from fluid jelly to gummy jelly.

I'm not sure if the high level of detail on these things is a good or bad thing.
