When you say wearable technology, you might automatically think of smartwatches or fitness/health trackers, but that’s not necessarily the case, as I will show you.

With the advent of 3D printing, tech wearables have extended into atypical fields such as fashion. For example, Tech in Motion organized one the Wearable Technology Fashion Show in New York, an event which provided an appropriate cat walk for a lot of 3D printed work, LED clothing, Google Glass and more.

ContinuumFashion is a Manhattan-based firm that specializes in unique 3D printed shoes and at the show, they revealed a pair of onyx kicks that drew a lot of attention.

TheLaserGilrs on the other hand, translated the current obsession for nail art into 3D printing. The 3D nails were showed off by their model in royal blue nylon and exposed a stylized, pretty freaky pattern that protruded out from the nails in 3D form.

Last but not least, designer Asher Lavine took up a collaboration with MarketBot and introduced at the show the world’s first 3D printed sunglasses, which is pretty hip, you have to admit. Would you ware any of those items?
