There's a step-by-step tutorial available, though you'll have to buy the materials

3D printing technology may not be able to create fully working electronics yet, but it can make frames, or parts of frames, easily enough, which is why Becky Stern was able to come up with a way to make retro-futuristic cyberpunk spikes meant to go on your shoulders.

Becky Stern is an Adafruit contributor and names her accessories Baby Gwar and Brony-Punk.

The spikes are made of plastic via 3D printing, but have LEDs inside that make them glow in the dark. Well, they glow during the day too, but it's less obvious.

They aren't too hard to make, and there's a complete step-by-step tutorial if you want to give it a try.

The materials will cost you though. They are, sure enough, up for sale on Adafruit for under $100 / €100, but it's not like that sum is all that small.

Then again, it's not quite outside the means of people seeking to make a birthday present for someone, or some such thing.

You should be able to make epaulets, collars, bracelets, and even crowns once you internalize the instructions.

As far as wearable electronics go, they aren't all that sophisticated, but they do have rechargeable batteries and a flexible LED strip with an associated controller, so they're not totally simplistic either.
