Created by a self-proclaimed prototype maker Dick Cho

Using a bow and arrow used to be considered an archaic form of combat and hunting, until superhero comics like Green Arrow made archery popular again.

These days, compound bows can be really popular, which is why a designer by the name of Dick Cho set about creating one.

He has gone through a couple of prototypes, but the one in the attached videos is the best and latest he was able to put together.

Called Vincy Compound Bow Mark 3, it is made of 4X 30/6/600 fiberglass, but also has a 3D printed drop-away arrow rest, and an adjustable cable tension device.

The bow can shoot things from 10 meters / 30 feet away without the archer (or would-be archer, depending on the person) needing to adjust for gravity. In other words, they don't need to aim a bit upwards in order to cover the distance.

The 3D printed prototype will probably be followed by others before Cho decides on a final version. I'm not sure if it will ever be put up for sale, though. Fortunately, you can download the design from Thingiverse and make it yourself if you're so inclined.

I've seen better-looking compound bows, but I'm not an archer, so for all I know, those could have been props with more emphasis on gratuitous symmetry and good looks than effectiveness.
