There are a bunch of websites on the Internet where you can find 3D models, and even upload them, but there isn't an easy or easily accessible means of seeing them all, or at least there wasn't one until now.

Sketchfab is fixing the situation for us, so to speak. It is a service that allows designers to upload and share their 3D scans.

Likewise, it lets people interested in getting something printed choose a model and download it, to send to a 3D printing service or use with their own printer if available.

Sktechfab is pretty straightforward really, an embeddable 3D object browser. Basically, it becomes part of your web browser, letting you search for 3D virtual objects/

Balderton, Partech and David Cohen have invested $2 million / €1.46 million in the project, and they have accrued 70,000 3D files so far, with an average of 300 files uploaded each day.

Designers can even showcase their wares and offer easy ways to share fan art and renders of them. They're even open for contact and requests.
