The BetAbram house-building printer will come in three sizes

We've heard about 3D printers capable of building a house out of concrete and of other ways that homes can be 3D printed, but this is the first time a printer of that sort is actually selling.

Well, technically the 3D printer isn't up for sale yet. Also, there is, technically, not one 3D printer, but three. Or there will be.

Slovenian company BetAbram will release the first 3D house printer this July or August, for the price of €12,000 / $12,000 – €16,000.

The machine can reach 2 meters in height / 6.5 feet and can easily be moved up to the next floor when the first is completed and sufficiently dried up (a rail system is used for that).

That means that the build volume isn't limited by the Z axis. As for the X/Y axes, rooms can be 4 x 3 meters / 13 x 10 feet.

In addition to the BetAbram P3, there will be BetAram P2 (€20,000 / $20,000 – $27,000) and BetAram P1 printers (€32,000 / $32,000 – $44,000).

The only difference is in the X/Y axes, not Z. So the BetAbram P2 would manage 12 x 6 meters / 40 x 20 feet and the BetAbram P1 in 16 x 9 meters / 52 x 30 feet.

So, in other words, you'd have to use the BetAbram P3 to make a floor room by room, but the others could be used to make whole floors at once.
