It seems that ViewSonic is seriously gearing up for the 3D-dominated 2010 Christmas shopping spree, since the company has just rolled out a complete 3D lineup (pocket camcorder plus 3D digital photo frame) that will allow users not only to record their favorite moments around the Christmas tree in 3D, but also view them immediately, even if they don't currently own a 3D HDTV. The first device announced by ViewSonic is the 3DV5 Pocket 3D HD Camcorder, that allows users to capture 3D and standard 2D videos, while viewing the live 3D content on a 2.4-inch 3D LCD glasses-less panel. Then, the 3D content can be easily played on a standard PC/notebook by wearing the red/cyan glasses that are included with the 3DV5 or on NVIDIA 3D monitors with NVIDIA’s 3D Vision Kit and on 3D HDTVs with their specific glasses. Furthermore, the 3DV5’s two 5-megapixel fixed focus cameras can also be used to capture 3D still images as well as 3D 720p HD video, while the intuitive built-in software is designed for easy uploading and sharing of videos on YouTube 3D and Facebook with one click. Plus a USB rechargeable Li-ion battery and flexible storage options make for content creation simple when on the move. Next in line comes the 8-inch 3DPF8 3D Multimedia Digital Photo Frame, a device that displays 3D photos and videos with no glasses needed, while in the same time automatically converting standard 2D photos and videos to 3D. In addition to customized slideshows with music, this multifaceted device offers all the functionality of a compact digital display, including calendar, clock and alarm features. Additionally, a rechargeable built-in battery and hidden touch panel controls ensure this device is as easy to use as it is interactive. Last, but certainly not least, we'll have to mention that the 3D package from ViewSonic is relatively affordable, each of the two products we've talked about earlier selling for $179.99.
