Sales could grow, cumulatively, by more than 10% in 2013, and further afterwards

Touch control has become ubiquitous on monitors, tablets, phones and pretty much everything with a screen these days, but it wasn't long ago that PCs, even laptops, only rarely boasted it. So the idea that the next level, 3D gesture control, would rise so quickly might seem far-fetched.

Nonetheless, DisplaySearch is quite certain that 3D gesture-sensing technology adoption will grow by at least 10% in smart devices in 2014.

In fact, the sales in 2015 are expected to be of 330 million, 70% more than in 2014 and twice as much as in 2013.

Proximity and 2D webcams are the most common for now, but true 3D tracking will sideline them soon, or so the analyst firm believes.

I have to admit that Leap Motion seems to be doing pretty well for itself already, so I can see where DisplaySearch is coming from.
