Halo: The Master Chief Collection is one of the major video games launches of the fall, and the fan community associated with the Master Chief-powered series seems to be interested in getting as much quality as possible from the games that the team at 343 Industries is remaking.

One player has asked Frank O'Connor, the current director in charge of the franchise, whether his team aims to deliver a 4K resolution mode for the new version of Halo 2, given that the game was initially set to run on a machine that had only limited hardware power.

The developer answers on NeoGAF by saying that "Yeah, we won’t be doing that, for about a hundred reasons that include the frame buffer switch. And it wouldn’t really be a cinch regardless, there’s more afoot than simply turning up the settings. I’m sure it would be possible. But it ain’t happening."

In order to limit the disappointment of long-term fans, Frank O'Connor is willing to offer one small example about the improvements in graphics quality that players will be able to notice in Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

He adds, "However, I saw little tiny gaps in the jungle canopy on Halo 3 that weren’t visible before. As I was doing that whole, 'ooh look up at the sun through the trees' thing you do on Halo games."

The developer also says that the graphics have already been improved when compared to what gamers were able to see at E3 2014, with a focus on anti-aliasing and texture quality.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is designed to allow fans of the series to enjoy all the core titles associated with it, with improved graphics quality and better gameplay.

The package will include Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4, and a code will also be offered to buyers in order to give them access to the Halo 5: Guardians beta test.

Microsoft is also including a special pass that will open up the weekly Nightfall mini-series, which is created under the leadership of Ridley Scott.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be launched exclusively on the Xbox One home console from Microsoft and will be available starting on November 11 in the United States and on November 14 in Europe.

An entirely new title in the series, using the subtitle Guardians, will be launched in 2015 and will deliver a new storyline, new mechanics and improved graphics quality.
