PAX Prime is one of the biggest video game-related events of the year, and the team working on the future of Halo says that fans of the series will be able to play Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Halo 2: Anniversary on the floor and to attend a panel which will talk about the future of the franchise on the Xbox One home console.

The two video games can be played at the official Microsoft booth, numbered 412, and a selection of both maps and game types will be included, available both in their classic incarnations and with modern tweaks.

On Friday, August 29, all interested players can go to the ASTRO Gaming booth at 842 or at the Skullcandy Gaming at booth 3117 in order to try and qualify for the Halo PAX Prime Showdown, with an 8-team final taking place during the weekend with a prize pool of 10,000 dollars (7,650 Euro).

The big panel for PAX Prime 2014 takes place on Saturday at Benaroya Hall, and the official announcement states, “Join the Halo Developers from 343 Industries for an in-depth look into Halo: The Master Chief Collection and other upcoming Halo projects and releases. Come celebrate The Master Chief and the future of the franchise as we take you on the next steps of your Halo journey.”

The panelists include some of the most important game developers engaged with the franchise: Frank O'Connor, the franchise director at 343 Industries, Dan Ayoub, the executive producer, Max Hoberman, Certain Affinity President and original multiplayer and online design lead on Halo 2, Kiki Wolfkill, producer at 343 Industries, and Paul Lipson, the senior audio director.

All those involved will be appearing at the Paramount Theater in order to sign content associated with Halo.

The finals of the Halo PAX Prime Showdown are a great way for regular players to pick up some new strategies for their own matches.

The team at 343 Industries says that fans who cannot attend the event can check Twitter, Instagram, Twitch and Facebook in order to keep up with all info.

The big launch for the Halo series this year is the remastered collection which arrives in November on the Xbox One and allows gamers to experience updated versions of the core four experiences that feature Master Chief.

But the big draw for the community is the fact that in 2015 the same platform will host the release of Halo 5: Guardians, with an entirely new storyline and improvements to gameplay.
